Kyle Larson Looks to Continue Historic Streak in Tennessee

2021 Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series Race Preview, Betting Odds, Props and Predictions

Kyle Larson (+225) is on some kind of run and as a result he’s a strong favorite in this weekend’s Ally 400 even with six drivers carrying odds at +1000 or less. That’s how it goes when you’ve won three straight races -one being the All-Star race- and finished second in the three previous races.

This is the first time NASCAR Cup Series has raced on the Nashville Superspeedway track and the first in the Nashville area since 1984. It’s owned by the same company that runs the Dover race in Delaware and is a 1/3 mile D-shaped oval with 14 degree banking turns.

Kyle Busch (+900) and William Byron (+800) will run in the Xfinity and Trucks race respectively on Saturday to get some practice in. All drivers will get a practice run on Saturday ahead of Sunday morning qualifying. The track has also been used as a test track for NASCAR for the last few years, so some drivers should have some driving experience there.

The closest comparison to this track is Darlington. That was Larson’s first second-place finish in this current streak. Others considered close are in Phoenix, Dover and Richmond as they are all high horsepower, low downforce tracks.

Chase Elliott (+500) is getting overshadowed by his Hendricks teammate, but the defending Series champ is right on the heels of Larson regarding recent performance. He finished third at the All-Star race, second to Larson in the two previous races and picked up a win and another third-place finish in the two previous races.

Denny Hamlin (+1000) continues to lead the overall points standings in spite still looking for his first win of the season. He is tied with nine top-five results. He has the best average finish among all drivers at the four tracks closest to this one.

Martin Truex Jr. (+1200) dominated in Darlington, leading 248 of 293 laps on his way to the win. He is also tied with Larson for most wins this season, but he has just one top result since Darlington. He finished third on the road in Sonoma, otherwise he’s been 13th or worst.

Kyle Busch (+900) finished third in Darlington and has four top-five results in his last six races. He did win here back in 2010 when the Xfinity series was here.

William Byron (+800) has the second-best average finish at those four similar tracks this season.

Joey Logano (+1500) another excellent performer with this driving package. He had the most top-five laps last year with similar set ups.

Tyler Reddick (+3000) is also going to race in the Xfinity race on Saturday and he does well on high tire wear tracks. Recent results have been solid with five top-10 results in his last seven races.
