PGA Comes to Texas and Bringing Many Top Players Together

2021 Houston Open Betting Preview, PGA Golf Odds, Value Bet, Props and Predictions

Brooks Koepka (+2500) might be in an advantageous position for this week’s Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open. That’s because that course has been recently redesigned to help bring it back into the PGA rotation after nearly six decades and Koepka was the chief consultant.

He finished fifth here last year, finding his game on Saturday and Sunday with matching 65s.

It could be just what he needs to get back on track after a series of recently disappointing results including missing the cut last week and no results in the top-20 in his previous five tournaments.

The Par-70 course has short grasses which should favor golfers excelling at their tee to green game.

The Defending champion Carlos Ortiz, fresh off a runner-up finish last week in his native Mexico, has withdrawn from the Houston Open.

He comes in hot this week, as the runner-up, four shots off the pace in last week’s World Wide Technology Championship which took place in Mexico.

Sam Burns (+1500) was the 54-hole leader last year and comes into this week looking to build off a great start to his season. He’s already got one win, winning Sanderson Farms and he almost won again the following week at the Shriners.

Scottie Scheffler (+1800) finished fourth last week and will look to build off of that

Matthew Wolf (+3000) shot a scorching 61 last week, but a round three 74 did him in as he ended tied for fifth, seven shots off the pace. A little more consistency this week could see a different result.

Talor Gooch (+3000) finished tied for 11th last week at -14, and has been consistently able to put up solid results. He shot a 74 on the final round, derailing what could have been at minimum a top-five result. Last year he tied Matsuyama setting that course record on the final day and will look to build off it for his first career win.

Marc Leishman (+5000) is a great pick at these odds, considering he’s got two top-four results in his last three starts and his tee-to-green game is 19th overall in his past 12 rounds and he excels compared to his peers on courses over 7400 yards.

Cameron Sisk (+30000) is here because of a well-earned sponsor exemption. The university player has been on fire with a win, a runner-up and a top-five result, which accounts for all three of his college starts this season.
