One Week Remains Until the Start of the Most Hyped Part of the NFL Offseason

2021 NFL Draft Favorite Prop Bets Betting Odds, Free Picks and Predictions

The Super Bowl ended February 7th and the first night of the draft takes place on April 29th. Nearly three months of hyping up the next generation of prospects is almost complete.

It’s one of, if not the most unique draft in NFL history. Such is the reality when Covid means there was no draft combine and no chance to meet live and in person with the players teams are banking their near future on.

The top three picks in the draft are also all but guaranteed to be quarterbacks. It’ll be just the third time in NFL history that’s happened and if Atlanta at the fourth pick takes or trades with another quarterback needy team, then that will be a first.

We essentially know that Trevor Lawrence will be picked first by Jacksonville and Zack Wilson is going number two to the Jets. The 49ers will be taking a quarterback at three and for weeks Mac Jones has been the surprise choice there. But now rumblings are coming out from several experts that Justin Fields will be the pick.

Read on to see who we like at number three and four more of our favorite first round prop picks…

2021 NFL Draft- 3rd Overall Pick: (Justin Fields +140)
Jones and Fields are both even at this point. Jones is the more accurate passer and known for how well he processes the field. He also had one of the greatest college seasons ever for a quarterback in leading Alabama to a national championship. He’s adored by his teammates and seems a consummate leader, and is thought to be a great fit in a Kyle Shanahan offense but his athletic skills seem a notch below some of the other top options.

Fields was on the losing end of that championship game, but he showed incredible toughness the game before in taking down mighty Clemson and Trevor Lawrence. He had the game of his life in spite taking a huge hit to the ribs in the second quarter. He shows incredible talent and he and Lawrence have been billed as the top talents in this draft ever since they were in high school.

Fields is our choice, but barely.

2021 NFL Draft - First RB Drafted: (Najee Harris from Alabama -200)
The pick is likely coming down to Harris or Clemson’s Travis Etienne (+155). Both have had prolific college careers at powerhouse universities. Harris gets the nod because of his skillset. While both are able to catch the ball out of the backfield, that is Harris’ best trait. Etienne is more of a power runner who can catch. Harris is more in the mold of Alvin Kamara and that is about as valuable a running back can be in the modern NFL. There’s a great chance he’ll be the only RB picked in the first round when the Steelers are on the clock at 24.

2021 NFL Draft - Total QBs Drafted in Round 1

2021 NFL Draft - Total QBs Drafted in Round 1: (Over 5.5 +400)
Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance and Jones are locks to get taken in round 1. Assessing if a sixth QB gets taken involves considering the QB-needy teams. Beyond the top-three, the Panthers (even after Sam Darnold), Broncos and Patriots are all strong candidates to take a QB early and so might the Falcons at four. The Saints need to replace Brees and the Steelers will need to do the same for Roethlisberger very soon. Drafting a QB in the first round locks them up on a rookie deal for five years, whereas it’s four when taken in the second round or later. What’s more, teams are now not so quietly excited about the next tier including David Mills out of Stanford and Kyle Trask from Florida.
