San Francisco Will Look to Close out LA Dodgers on the Road

MLB Divisional Playoffs Odds, Parlay Predictions on Brewers vs Braves and Giants vs Dodgers

If the Milwaukee Brewers can’t get their bats on track on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves, they’ll be booking tee times on Wednesday.

Top-notch pitching and terrific defense has been the name of the game for both teams thus far with both teams combining to score nine runs total through the first three games of the series.

The Brewers however have taken their hitting ineptitude to the next level. They’ve been shutout in two straight games, they are a combined 0-for-19 with runners in scoring position in the series and they have yet to score a run before the seventh inning.

On Monday, The Braves picked up their second win of the series and it came on one swing of the bat, courtesy of former Dodger, Joc Pederson.

He hit a three-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie. It was his second pinch hit homerun of the series. He’s now produced four of the seven RBIs for Atlanta in the series.

In a small sample size, SS Willy Adames is the only Brewers with more than two hits.

3B Austin Riley and LF Eddie Rosario have led the way thus far for the Braves.

Christian Yelich, Kolten Wong, Avisail Garcia, Eduardo Escobar and Lorenzo Cain have combined for just seven hits on 51 at bats for a .137 average.

The San Francisco Giants pulled out a nail biting 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday night which puts them one win away from advancing to the NLCS.

The only run came on a homerun courtesy of Evan Longoria, his only hit through three games thus far.

Giants starter Alex Wood lasted just 4.2 innings in spite allowing just four base runners and no runs. They turned to their most consistent reliever down the stretch, Camilo Doval for a two inning save to get the win. That might cost the Giants if they need to turn to the bullpen early again on Tuesday.

Mookie Betts was robbed of a game-tying RBI in the bottom of the seventh on a perfectly timed leaping catch by SS Brandon Crawford. It would have been his sixth hit of the postseason. As it is he is leading the Dodgers offense. Nine different Dodgers have RBIs through their four postseason games.

Buster Posey and Kris Bryant lead the way for the Giants with five and four hits apiece. In spite scoring just seven runs through three games, they are on the cusp of advancing.

Milwaukee at Atlanta - Game #4 (TBS, 5:07 pm ET)
Atlanta at -163 O/U 8u (-115)

Probable Pitchers:
Milwaukee: Eric Lauer (7-5) ERA: 3.03
Atlanta: Charlie Morton (14-7) ERA: 3.29

Erik Lauer gets the start to help save the Brewers season and he’s about as good a fourth starter as there is in the game. He had his worst start since mid-June last time out, allowing five runs in five innings in an 8-6 loss to the Dodgers. He had allowed one run or less in 11 of his previous 14 starts and two runs in two of the others.

Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings in game one of this series, a 2-1 loss. He has a sub 2.85 ERA in his last 13 starts dating back to the beginning of August.

Morton also has a strong track record of post season excellence over the past five postseasons. With the Brewers hitters already struggling, this gives the Braves the edge.
The Pick: Atlanta 3-1
Atlanta -163 & Under 8 (-115)

San Francisco at LA Dodgers - Game #4 (TBS, 9:07 pm ET)
LA Dodgers -220 O/U 7½u (-115)

Probable Pitchers:
San Francisco: Anthony DeSclafani (13-7) ERA: 3.17
LA Dodgers: Walker Buehler (16-5) ERA: 2.52

Anthony Desclafani has been one of the surprise stories of a season of improbabe Giants stories. At 31-years-old he’s having his best season by ERA, WHIP and wins. He’s also turned it up down the stretch with a 2.25 ERA in his last six starts. The Giants are 5-1 in those games.

Tony Gonsolin is the expected starter for the Dodgers, although that was not made official at time of writing. He was effective in limited innings this season and had a 4.05 ERA over 20 innings in five September starts, all five innings or less. If he pitches, expect him to last only until the first sign of trouble.

Desclafani has been overcoming the odds all season. If he can pitch five or six effective innings, the Giants are more than capable of pulling off the upset in a game that figures to feature a lot of bullpen action.
The Pick: Giants 5-4
San Francisco +148 & Over 7½ (-115)
