Baseballís Two Best Teams Meet in Deciding Game Five

MLB Playoffs Odds & NLDS Game 5 Parlay Predictions on Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Francisco Giants

It all comes down to this. One game to decide the League Division Series between the 106-win Los Angeles Dodgers and the 107-win San Francisco Giants.

Little separated the two best teams in the Majors this season and now they’ll play one more game in a series that’s been a tale of two entirely different stories.

Both Giants wins have been low scoring shutouts and both Dodgers wins have been of the blowout variety. The most recent of those came on Tuesday night when LA saved their season with a 7-2 win.

They scored in three of the first four innings and never looked back.

Mookie Betts has been the best player in the series with seven hits and four RBIs, and Dodgers catcher Will Smith hasn’t been far behind with a couple of home runs and 14 total bases.

Kris Bryant, Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford have accounted for 26 of the Giants 38 total bases in the series. As a team they are hitting just .184 and have scored nine runs in four games.

The margin for error thus far has been slim and it’s taken near perfect pitching for them to get this far.

They were a team with seemingly a different hero stepping up every night during the regular season, but thus far, four of those players, Mike Yastrzemski, Wilmer Flores, LaMonte Wade and Evan Longoria have accounted for three total hits and 1 RBI between them.

That is going to need to change quickly if the Cinderella Giants are to take down the defending World Series champions.

LA Dodgers at San Francisco - Game #5 (TBS, 9:07 pm ET)
Dodgers & Giants at -110 O/U 7u (-120)

Probable Pitchers:
LA Dodgers: Julio Urias (21-3) ERA: 2.93
San Francisco: Logan Webb (12-3) ERA: 2.83

The Dodgers best pitcher, Julio Urias will get the start. He was the Majors only 20-game winner this season. He gave up one run in five innings in his team’s 9-2 win over the Giants in game two. It’s his third start in a row allowing one run or less. The Dodgers have won 12 straight when he takes the mound.

The last two losses were in July, both to the Giants and he allowed one run in each of them over a combined 12.2 innings of work.

The Giants best pitcher over the second half, Logan Webb will get the start. He pitched 7.2 scoreless innings in his team’s 4-0 game one win over the Dodgers. The Giants are 19-2 in his last 21 starts dating back to May 11th. That includes both of the games Urias pitched against the Giants back in July.

This should be a pitching dual for the ages. The veteran hitters on this team have all led teams to World Series win and sometimes multiple titlees. With margins this close, I like the Giants because even though they have the best record in the league, they are playing with house money. They have less pressure and they are playing at home.
The Pick: Giants 2-1
San Francisco -110 & Under 7 (-120)
