Indy Looks to Build on Last Week’s Win as They Visit AFC North Leaders

NFL Football Odds & MNF Parlay Predictions on Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens

The Indianapolis Colts have had as difficult an opening slate as any team in the NFL with games against the Seahawks, Rams and Titans to get things started. They lost all three and are now in the final leg of a three-game road trip going up against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that they picked up their first win of the season last week in Miami, 27-17. QB Carson Wentz had his best game since coming to the Colts, completing 75% of his passes, with two touchdowns, no picks and a 115.1 QB rating.

He’s dealing with a couple of sore ankles and has been sacked multiple times in each game for a total of ten on the season.

The challenge of remaining upright will be hard this week as their best lineman, LG Quenton Nelson is on IR.

Baltimore improved their record to 3-1 last week going into Denver and dominating on the defensive end on their way to a 23-7 win. After a rough start defensively this season against the Raiders and Chiefs, they’ve held both the Lions and Broncos under 300 yards of total offense while giving up a combined 24 parts the last two weeks.

The Ravens also managed to knock QB Teddy Bridgewater out of the game on the way to posting five sacks and 11 QB hits.

QB Lamar Jackson posted his first 300-yard passing game of the season and was sacked three times. The Ravens are going to be without their starting LT Ronnie Stanley and his backup Alejandro Villanueva is listed as questionable as well.

For the Colts to have a realistic shot in this one they’ll need to win the turnover battle (they are +4 this season) and get to Jackson. They are averaging 2 sacks a game thus far which ties them for 18th best but that includes a three-sack performance last week.

Indianapolis at Baltimore (ESPN, 8:15 pm ET)
Baltimore at -7 O/U 46

In a tale of two defenses we’ve seen the Ravens rise to the occasion and post the kind of results we’re used to seeing from them against mediocre or worse offenses. The book might be out against them against the elite offenses, but the Colts thus far have shown themselves to be mediocre thus far.

The Ravens might also be getting back a couple of wide receivers in Rashod Bateman and Myles Boykin and will be playing at home. I think they’ll control the majority of this game on the way to a comfortable win.
The Pick: Ravens 31-20
