NHL Playoffs Parlay Picks Returns a 7 for 1 Payout on Islanders vs Lightning & Canadiens vs Knights

The NHL is down to its final four teams and the 2021 edition looks very similar to the 2020 version. Last year the Tampa Bay Lightning dispatched the New York Islanders in six games on their way to winning their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.

This year the Lightning are looking more dominant than ever, having applied a lesson or two from winning the Cup. They arguably faced the strongest opposition through the first two rounds of any of the remaining teams.

They absorbed a few punches, but on the whole have been in control in beating the Florida Panthers in six games and the Carolina Hurricanes in five.

Tampa arguably has the game’s best goalie in Andrei Vasilevskiy, who has been terrific in these playoffs, a defense corps that is the total package led by former and likely this year’s Norris Trophy winner Victor Hedman and an offense that is the most lethal in the league. They did not have their best forward, former Hart Trophy winner Nikita Kucherov for the entire regular season and all he’s done in his return is lead the NHL in playoff scoring.

The Islanders, however are no pushovers as they are led by arguably the best coach in the business Barry Trotz who led the Washington Capitals to a Stanley Cup win three seasons ago. This team has total buy-in to his system and they also have depth up and down the lineup.

They play a mean, aggressive game that wears down the opposition and they have a knack for turning up the offense when they need it. They wore out the Bruins in their last series and the Penguins in their first and are counting on a few days of rest to help recover from the exhausting style of game they play so they can be at their best in game one.

The Vegas Golden Knights finished tied in the NHL in points this season with their second-round opponents from Colorado. But they were throttled 7-1 in game one and they lost game two as well, although in a game where they controlled the majority of play.

Many experts counted them down and out, but their robust style, aggressive forecheck and team play forced the skilled Avalanche to stray from their game. Vegas got stronger as the series went on in winning the last four in a row.

No team however is a bigger surprise to make it this far than the Montreal Canadiens who will try to do to the Knights what last year’s upstart Dallas Stars did and pull off the Conference Finals upset.

The Habs were the last team to qualify for the playoffs and to get out of round one, but they were the first to make it through round two when they dominated the Winnipeg Jets in four straight wins. The advanced stats were some of the strongest in a playoff series in the history of tracking those numbers.

Similar to all the remaining teams, they are able to roll four lines and keep up an aggressive forecheck and their defense, led by their top-four has been stifling. The shots that have gotten through have mostly been stopped by Carey Price who is having a renaissance playoff after a weak regular season. He is tops in save % of all goalies and just behind the Knights Marc Andre Fleury in GAA.

As a result, Montreal comes into this series winners of seven straight games.

The Habs defensive depth however will be tested as they are likely without their best all-around defenseman for game one, Jeff Petry.

NY Islanders at Tampa Bay - Game 1 (NBC, 3:00 pm ET) - Tampa Bay -200 - O/U 5½u (-145)
This should be a fierce battle right from the opening faceoff. I expect both teams to be locked in and raise their level of play, but the Lightning, in front of their raucous home crowd get the job done in a seesaw affair.
The Pick: Lightning 4-3 - Tampa Bay -200 & Over 5½ (+120)
A $50 Parlay Bet will return $118 in Profit

Montreal at Vegas - Game 1 (NBCSN, 9:00 pm ET) - Vegas -270 - 5½u (-130)
Montreal has won the first game on the road in both of their series thus far and have not trailed in any of their seven wins in this current streak. They’ve had a week off to prepare, but I expect the Knights to be sharp and the loss of Petry hurts for a team that relies on their top four D the way Montreal does against a team like Vegas that rolls four lines.
The Pick: Knights 3-1 - Vegas -270 & Under 5½ (-130)
A $50 Parlay Bet will return $71 in Profit

$50 Parlay all 4 Bets and get $359 in Profit
