Tom Brady and Tampa Head to Philly on Thursday Night Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Philadelphia Eagles Week 6 NFL Odds & TNF Parlay Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles gave themselves a fighting chance in the NFC East with a gutsy win last week. They can put the league on notice if they can pull off another win Thursday night when they host the high-flying Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles bumped their record up to 2-3 after coming all the way back from a 15-3 deficit to defeat a Carolina Panthers team 21-18 that came into the game 3-1.

Granted, it’s a team that was missing star RB Christian McCaffrey for the second straight game, but they did a great job of putting the hurt on QB Sam Darnold and the Panthers receivers.

They produced three interceptions, including two for star DB Darius Slay, three sacks and eight QB hurries.

Their defense kept them in it and QB Jalen Hurts did just enough with two second half rushing touchdowns to put them over the top.

Meanwhile, QB Tom Brady continues to defy all expectations, even as the greatest quarterback of all time. The 44-year-old threw five more touchdowns last week in the team’s 45-17 thumping of the Miami Dolphins.

They put up a season high 558 yards of offense and Brady moved into the NFL passing yards lead with 1,767 yards, an average of 353.4 YPG.

It was also the second straight game that the defense seemed to resemble the kind of unit they were expecting to be after their dominant run in the post season.

They produced two turnovers and held the Dolphins to 301 yards of offense.

The Bucs allowed an average of 29.3 PPG against the Cowboys, Falcons and Rams in their first three games. Those teams rank 2nd, 22nd and 8th in points scored this season. They’ve held both the Patriots and Dolphins to 17 apiece, teams who rank 26th and 31st in points scored.

Philadelphia ranks 16th averaging 23.0 PPG. They are 21st allowing 24.8 PPG.

The Eagles gave up 41 and 42 points respectively to the Cowboys and Chiefs, 2nd and 5th in scoring. They allowed 41 points total to Atlanta, San Francisco and Carolina.

Tampa Bay is 3rd averaging 33.4 PPG

Tampa Bay at Philadelphia (NFLN, 8:20 pm ET)
Tampa Bay at -7 O/U 52½

The Eagles are seven-point home underdogs. They are missing their starting left tackle, Lane Johnson and starting TE Dallas Goedert. At the same time, I think they will put up a good fight in this one. I just don’t see them able to keep up with Brady and his bevy of receivers for a full four quarters.
The Pick: Tampa Bay 27-17
Tampa Bay -7 (EVEN) & Under 52½ (-105)
