Arizona Wildcats Betting Preview
Arizona keeps marching through the season with history in its sights. Sitting at 21-0 overall and 8-0 in conference play, the Wildcats are tied for the best start the program has ever seen and are now one win away from matching the longest winning streak in school history. Most of those victories have not been subtle, as Arizona is beating opponents by an average of 21.3 points per game.
The Wildcats were finally tested on Monday at BYU, where they nearly let a comfortable lead slip away late. Arizona was up 19 points with under ten minutes remaining before surviving a furious rally to escape with an 86-83 win. That finish mattered. This group has dominated so often that late game pressure had rarely appeared, and now they have proven they can close when things get uncomfortable.
Freshman Brayden Burries led the way with 29 points in that win and is averaging 15.2 points per game on the season. He has been on a tear lately, scoring 20.4 points per game over his last four contests while shooting 50 percent from the floor and from three point range. Fellow freshman Koa Peat adds 14.5 points per game and will be playing in his home area, which only adds to Arizona’s motivation.
Arizona already beat Arizona State 89-82 earlier this month despite Burries struggling in that matchup. Since then, his form has skyrocketed, making this rematch feel far more dangerous for the Sun Devils.
Arizona State Sun Devils Betting Preview
Arizona State enters the rivalry game searching for consistency and results. The Sun Devils are 11-10 overall and 2-6 in conference play, having dropped four of their last five games. Their most recent loss was a tough one at UCF, where they led by 12 points late before watching the game slip away.
The Sun Devils showed they can compete with Arizona in the first meeting, cutting the deficit to three points in the final minute. Maurice Odum continues to be the engine of the offense, leading the team with 17.2 points and 6.6 assists per game. His ability to create shots kept Arizona State alive in Tucson.
Freshman center Massamba Diop was also a bright spot in that earlier matchup, scoring 16 points on efficient shooting. Arizona State has enough offense to hang around, but defensive lapses and late game execution remain major concerns.
Prediction and Betting Outlook
Arizona has been dominant, and the close call at BYU may actually sharpen their focus. Arizona State competes hard at home, but sustaining that level for forty minutes against the nation’s top team is a tall order.
Expect Arizona to control tempo, pull away in the second half, and remind everyone why it has been steamrolling opponents all season.
