Game Preview

Lamar Jackson doesn’t view the Baltimore Ravens as a defeated team despite their first 0-2 start since 2015, a year before the reigning NFL MVP was drafted.

Instead, both teams might better be described as **frustrated** as Baltimore prepares to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Cowboys have allowed the most points in consecutive home games—92—since the winless expansion team in 1960, which permitted 93 points in back-to-back games at the Cotton Bowl.

At 1-1, the Cowboys were already disgruntled about their 16-game regular-season home winning streak, believing it was tarnished by their 48-32 wild-card loss to Green Bay at AT&T Stadium last January.

Things worsened with New Orleans’ 44-19 rout in Week 2, where the Saints scored touchdowns on their first six drives with minimal resistance from a defense that had previously shown dominance in a season-opening win against Cleveland.

“They have issues to resolve just like we do,” said Dallas cornerback Jourdan Lewis. “We need to tighten things up to avoid another slide like last week. I’m sure they’re feeling the same pressure. It’s about who addresses their problems first.”

The Ravens, who boasted the best regular-season record last year before falling to Super Bowl champion Kansas City in the AFC championship, are aware that the last time they started 0-2, they ended the season at 5-11 and missed the playoffs.

Only one team since 2000 has made it to the postseason after starting 0-3, and no Super Bowl champion has ever begun a season that poorly.

“We’re focused on correcting our mistakes and restoring our pride,” linebacker Odafe Oweh stated. “It’s tense because we don’t want to go 0-3—that’s simply not going to happen. Everyone understands the stakes, even if it’s not explicitly said.”
