Orioles Return to Rangers’ Territory After Playoff Knockout
The Baltimore Orioles face the Texas Rangers in Arlington to kick off the second half of the season with a three-game series starting this Friday night.
This series marks Baltimore’s first return to Globe Life Field since their postseason journey was cut short by the Rangers in Game 3 of last year’s American League Division Series. However, this time, the stakes aren’t as high as a single loss won’t end their season.
Currently holding the second-best record in the AL and leading the New York Yankees by one game in the AL East, the Orioles are well-situated to make another run for the playoffs.
Yet, the team aims to start the second half on a stronger note than how they ended the first. Baltimore’s performance dipped as they went 9-13 towards the break, including two separate five-game losing streaks. During the most recent skid from July 9-13, the Orioles’ offense particularly struggled, managing just four runs across five games and getting shut out back-to-back on July 10 and 11.
