With the historic milestone achieved, the Los Angeles Lakers can now turn their attention to their next goal: getting back into playoff contention. On Wednesday night, LeBron James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder that ended with a 133 to 130 loss for the Lakers. Despite much fanfare and an impressive showing of celebrities in attendance, the Lakers’ focus seemed to be on getting James his record rather than fundamental defensive play. Now, they must get back to the task at hand and make up for lost time if they hope to qualify for a post-season spot.
Looking into some injury updates, Milwaukee’s star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez are probable for tonight’s game, though they will be without Bobby Portis and Serge Ibaka. As for the Lakers, Lebron James is questionable with a left ankle soreness.
Some trends to consider for this matchup, the Bucks are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games versus a team with a losing straight up record. As for the Lakers, they just haven’t been good lately on covering the spread.
That said, I’m locked in with the Milwaukee Bucks to cover the spread at -6 for my free pick of the day. If Lebron James is a no-go, I could see the Bucks having no problem covering the ATS.
