Philadelphia Eagles: Quiet Dominance, Loud Expectations

Despite sitting pretty at 4-0, the Eagles offense has left bettors scratching their heads. Sure, they’re undefeated, but this isn’t the electric Philly squad that steamrolled teams in 2022. They’ve hit a few speed bumps early on, especially when it comes to the passing game.

Jalen Hurts hasn’t thrown a touchdown in two straight games. Saquon Barkley is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry. And DeVonta Smith? He’s practically vanished. Then there’s A.J. Brown, who stirred the pot with a cryptic social post after a quiet one-catch performance. Philly’s stars have gone quiet, but the win column hasn’t.

Still, they’re riding high on a 10-game win streak (including playoffs) and have covered 18 of the last 19 games Hurts started and finished. That’s a ridiculous stretch for any team, and it’s what’s keeping sportsbooks favoring Philly at -4.0 this week.

Will the offense wake up against a gritty Denver D? Or are we in for another grind-it-out, defensive affair?

Denver Broncos: Defensive Swagger, Finally a Run Game?

The Broncos come into this matchup at 2-2, but they’ve looked better than their record suggests. This defense doesn’t just show up, it shows out. Denver has kept opponents out of the end zone in two games this season, and hasn’t allowed a touchdown in seven games since 2023, more than any team in the league.

Their pass rush is lethal, with 15 sacks through four weeks, that’s tops in the NFL again. And after what felt like a century, J.K. Dobbins finally broke the 100-yard rushing barrier in a statement win on Monday night. The run game might be back, and if so, Philly’s leaky run defense could be in trouble.

Head coach Sean Payton finally seems to be turning the ship around. This Denver team isn’t flashy, but it punches you in the mouth and now it’s learning how to punch back on offense, too.

Final Score Prediction & Betting Outlook

Philly’s winning streak and home advantage make them the logical favorite, but Denver’s defense could muddy the waters for spread bettors. Expect the Eagles to escape with a win, but it won’t be pretty. Take the under 44.5 in what could be a defensive slugfest with limited fireworks.

Low-scoring, gritty, and just enough Hurts magic to edge out a scrappy Broncos squad.

Final Score:  Eagles 20, Broncos 17
Lean: Denver +4.0
Total:
Under 44.5
