Detroit Pistons Outlook
The Pistons have clinched a play-in spot and are now pushing for a guaranteed playoff berth in the East. Riding a three-game win streak and winning five of their last six, Detroit (42-32) is peaking at the right time — and doing so even without Cade Cunningham, who’s been sidelined with a calf bruise. His status for Sunday remains questionable, but Detroit hasn’t slowed down.
In Friday’s 133-122 win over Cleveland, the Pistons’ offensive rhythm was on full display. Tim Hardaway Jr. exploded for a season-high 32 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 7 made threes. With Cunningham potentially out again, expect Hardaway’s usage to spike once more. Malik Beasley has also filled the scoring void well, averaging 16.2 PPG on a blistering 42.2% from deep.
Jalen Duren continues to anchor the paint, averaging a double-double (11.7 PPG, 10.2 RPG), and gives Detroit a solid interior presence against Minnesota’s frontcourt.
Player Prop Angles (Pistons):
Tim Hardaway Jr. Over 2.5 3PM
Jalen Duren Over 9.5 Rebounds
Malik Beasley Over 15.5 Points
Minnesota Timberwolves Outlook
The Timberwolves (42-32) have been up and down lately, alternating wins and losses in their last four games. They looked sharp in a 124-109 win over Phoenix, but this team has lacked consistency. They’re still trying to lock up a better seed in the West and can’t afford more slips — especially at home.
Anthony Edwards, Minnesota’s leading scorer at 27.2 PPG, has cooled off recently, averaging just 18 points over his last three on inefficient shooting (41.2% FG, 28.6% from 3). A bounce-back performance could be in the cards, especially facing a Detroit defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in guarding the perimeter.
Mike Conley continues to be a steady floor general, while Rudy Gobert’s double-double averages (11.1 PPG, 10.4 RPG) provide the usual interior dominance. If Gobert asserts himself early, he could control the paint against Detroit’s young front line.
Player Prop Angles (Timberwolves):
Anthony Edwards Over 26.5 Points
Rudy Gobert Double-Double
Mike Conley Over 6.5 Assists
Betting Prediction
The Timberwolves are 7-point home favorites, but they’ve been unreliable covering larger spreads. Meanwhile, Detroit has already proven it can beat this team — winning the first matchup 119-105 back in January. The Pistons have momentum, even without Cunningham, and their offense has been red-hot.
If Edwards returns to form, Minnesota could win outright, but this game has the feel of a back-and-forth battle. Expect Detroit to keep it close — or even sneak out another win.
Score Prediction:
Timberwolves 115, Pistons 112
