Duke vs. Georgia Tech: ACC Tournament Quarterfinals Betting Preview

Duke (-22) vs. Georgia Tech | Total: 143

The top-seeded Duke Blue Devils enter the ACC Tournament as the No. 1 team in the nation, riding an eight-game winning streak and looking to cement their case for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They will take on the eighth-seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who are coming off a hard-fought 66-60 victory over Virginia in the second round.

Duke Blue Devils

Duke (28-3) has dominated all season, winning 27+ games in each of Jon Scheyer’s first three years at the helm. The Blue Devils have proven they can handle adversity, as seen in their recent 82-69 comeback win over North Carolina.

ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg has been a force, averaging 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Alongside him, Kon Knueppel (13.7 PPG) earned second-team All-ACC honors and Tyrese Proctor (12.4 PPG) landed on the third team. Duke’s deep, versatile roster will be a problem for Georgia Tech, especially after a dominant 82-56 road win over the Yellow Jackets in December.

Duke’s defense has been one of the best in the country, and their ability to control the pace makes it difficult for underdogs to keep up. With their balanced attack, expect them to build an early lead and make it tough for Georgia Tech to cover the spread.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech (17-15) has played its best basketball down the stretch, winning four of its last five games. The Yellow Jackets secured a gritty win over Virginia behind Duncan Powell’s 21 points and a near triple-double from Naithan George (13 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists).

Baye Ndongo (14.6 PPG, 8.8 RPG) has been the backbone of this team and earned third-team All-ACC honors, but he will have his hands full against Duke’s size and depth. Georgia Tech’s biggest issue in this matchup will be consistency on offense, as they’ve struggled to score efficiently against elite defensive teams.

The last time these teams met, Duke dominated with an 82-56 win in Atlanta, and Georgia Tech hasn’t fared well against top-tier teams in the ACC. However, their recent momentum could give them an edge to keep this one from getting completely out of hand.

Betting Prediction

Duke’s dominance and depth give them a clear advantage, but covering a massive 22-point spread could be tricky, especially if they let off the gas late. Georgia Tech has been playing well enough to potentially keep things within range, but the Blue Devils should cruise to a comfortable win.

Pick: Duke to Win, but Georgia Tech Covers (+22)
Lean: Under 143 – Duke’s defense should control the tempo
