Seattle enters this matchup as a 14 point favorite, which feels less like a betting line and more like Vegas politely asking if Indianapolis is okay. The Seahawks are 10-3, armed with a top tier defense, and currently treating opposing rushing attacks like unwanted spam emails. They simply delete them.
Seattle’s defense has not allowed a 100 yard rusher in over twenty straight games, which is absurd. That streak alone could qualify for its own podcast. Indianapolis arrives battered, bruised, and very close to asking the equipment manager if he can throw a slant. Injuries have hit hard. Quarterbacks are falling like dominoes. The idea of Rivers returning has given the locker room a spark, even if it feels like summoning a legendary creature from football folklore.
Rivers stepping on an NFL field again would be inspiring, terrifying, and mildly hilarious all at once. But even inspiration has limits when facing a defense that eats rushing attempts for breakfast. Jonathan Taylor leads the league in rushing, but this matchup feels like pushing a shopping cart uphill into a hurricane.
The Colts are also dealing with key absences on the offensive line and in the secondary, which makes surviving in Seattle feel like a survival show episode nobody signed up for.
Prediction
This game has novelty written all over it, but novelty does not stop sacks, and it does not open running lanes. Seattle is healthier, deeper, and far more stable. Indianapolis might play hard early, fueled by emotion and adrenaline, but talent and trench dominance usually win out.
The total sits at 41.5, and with Seattle controlling the pace and the Colts struggling to sustain drives, points should come but not explode.
