Game Preview

One home-and-home sweep accomplished, and now the Minnesota Lynx aim for another as they visit the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday, with a rematch scheduled for Friday in Minneapolis.

The Lynx (19-8) are riding high after winning five of their last seven games, including a recent pair of victories against the Washington Mystics since returning from the Olympic break. Napheesa Collier has been a standout performer, leading the team in scoring during both matchups, including a remarkable 30-point game in a 99-83 road win on Saturday, where she shot 13-for-16 from the field.

"Phee is the type of player who can dominate whenever she plays," said teammate Bridget Carleton, who contributed 16 points. Collier’s strong performance included a 15-point third quarter, which helped the Lynx outscore Washington 33-17 in that period. She also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the earlier game against the Mystics.

Collier’s strong showing is particularly encouraging after she missed five games leading up to the Olympics due to a foot injury, despite ultimately helping Team USA secure gold.

The Aces (17-9) are looking to finish strong in their three-game homestand following a tough start. After a WNBA Finals rematch loss to New York, they bounced back with an 87-71 win over Los Angeles on Sunday. A’ja Wilson continued her impressive season with 34 points and 13 rebounds, marking her 17th game this season with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds—breaking her own league record set last year.

Wilson is leading the WNBA with an average of 27.3 points and 2.8 blocks per game, ranking second in rebounds at 12.0 and tied for third in steals at 2.0.

The Lynx and Aces split their first two encounters this season, with each team winning by 14 points on the other’s court. Their last matchup was on June 11, where Minnesota secured a 100-86 victory.

In roster news, the Washington Mystics traded forward Myisha Hines-Allen to the Lynx in exchange for guard Olivia Epoupa, forward Sika Kone, and a second-round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. The Mystics subsequently waived Epoupa and guard DiDi Richards.
