Nashville vs San Jose NHL Preview & Pick

Moneyline: San Jose -117
Spread: San Jose -1.5 (+215)
Total: 6.5

San Jose Sharks

Ah yes, the San Jose Sharks. A team that suddenly remembered how to win hockey games right when the playoff door cracked open. Convenient timing.

San Jose rolls into this one with four straight wins and just smacked Toronto 4 to 1 like it was a casual Tuesday skate. They now sit at 36-31-7 with 79 points and, more importantly, hold the tiebreaker over Nashville. Translation: they are technically winning the “who deserves stress more” contest.

Zack Ostapchuk and William Eklund both dropped a goal and an assist last game, while Collin Graf and Adam Gaudette joined the party. Depth scoring is showing up, which is great because relying on one guy in April is how you end up golfing early.

Alex Nedeljkovic turned aside 18 shots, which is basically the goalie version of “I did my job, please don’t ruin it.” The Sharks also have a game in hand, which in betting terms means a little extra leverage and a little extra pressure.

Coach Ryan Warsofsky says they need desperation. Good news, coach. Everyone watching their futures ticket feels it too.

Nashville Predators

Now let’s talk about Nashville, a team that just tried very hard to lose a game… and still won it anyway.

They blew a 3-0 lead against the Kings, because of course they did, then needed eight rounds of a shootout to finally escape with a 5 to 4 win. That’s not a win. That’s emotional damage with two points attached.

Filip Forsberg, Jonathan Marchessault, Zachary L’Heureux and Steven Stamkos all scored, which sounds great until you realize they still needed a shootout to survive. Luke Evangelista played hero in the shootout, because someone had to.

Juuse Saros made 29 saves and probably aged five years during that game. Nashville now sits at 35-31-9 with 79 points, meaning this matchup is basically a playoff game disguised as a regular season headache.

Their road record is 15-16-6, which is the hockey equivalent of “we might show up, we might not, good luck figuring it out.”

Prediction

San Jose is a slight Moneyline favorite at -117, with the puck line at -1.5 (+215) and a total sitting at 6.5.

Both teams are desperate, both teams are flawed, and both teams have shown they can make things unnecessarily dramatic. But San Jose has the edge here. Better momentum, home ice, and they are not actively trying to give games away… at least not lately.

Nashville’s tendency to collapse mid-game is a massive red flag, especially against a Sharks team that is suddenly getting production across the lineup.

This has all the signs of a chaotic, high-scoring game where defense takes a night off.

Score Prediction: Sharks 4 Predators 3
Pick: San Jose ML (-117)
Total: Over 6.5 (+100)
