A new generation of New England Patriots strive to stretch the franchise’s recent dominance of the host Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots (0-1) have won six of the last seven meetings with the Steelers (1-0) dating back to 2013, including a 36-17 victory in the AFC Championship Game in January 2017.
However, all six of those victories came with Tom Brady under center.
Second-year quarterback Mac Jones will try to pick up where Brady left off, but he will have to do so coming off a setback at Miami.
Jones completed 21 of 30 passes for 213 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Patriots’ 20-7 loss to the Dolphins. He also injured his back and needed X-rays after the game, which came back negative.
