The Orlando Magic are assembling one of the best collections of young talent in the NBA and 2022-23 is all about player development. The team added two extremely talented players last year in Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner at shooting guard and small forward and this year with the number one pick they added Paolo Banchero to beef up the front court.
Add in young veterans like Markelle Fultz (currently injured), Cole Anthony and Wendell Carter Jr. and others and this team is just oozing with promise. Competition for minutes will be fierce when everyone is healthy and that should help bring out the best in players every night.
Terrence Ross is the elder statemen at 31 and Gary Harris is next at 28. 14 players on the extended roster are 24 or younger, including every starter.
Expect more growing pains, but a team that could start to ascend by the second half of the season.

From a betting standpoint, the one option that stands out above the rest is Banchero for rookie of the year. He’s going to get a lot of minutes and opportunities in key moments. He’s already NBA ready from a defensive standpoint. If he can get his offense going sooner rather than later, this award could be his to lose.
With so many teams improving, not only in the East, but across the NBA, wins look like they’re still going to be hard to come by as the team did not bring in any significant outside help. They are planning for growing pains.
