It all comes down to this, a rematch between the visiting New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans have been on a roll since their shock 131 to 126 victory over the Lakers four weeks ago, buoyed by former Laker Brandon Ingram’s 35-point performance. Meanwhile, the Lakers have struggled since suffering that defeat, going 4 and 6 in their last ten games including a 127 to 115 loss against Portland just this Monday. Who will come out on top in what could be a defining game before the All-Star break?
Well lets dig into some injuries, the Pelicans will once again be without Zion Williamson as he continues to deal with a re-aggravated hamstring injury. Also, C.J. McCollum is questionable with a sprained right ankle. As for the Lakers, Lebron James is expected to get back into action but for he is questionable.
Although the trends are pointing towards the Pelicans to cover the spread, if LBJ is a go, I could see the Lakers getting this win at home. Especially with their newly added players in Russell and Hachimura. They should have no problem covering the spread.
That said, I’m rolling with the Los Angeles Lakers to cover the spread at -3 and a half for my free pick of the day.
