After a historic performance in his last game, Damian Lillard experienced one of his lowest-scoring outings in over five weeks. The Portland superstar will aim to regain his scoring form as the Trail Blazers take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night.
Lillard put up an incredible career-high 71 points during Sunday’s dominant 131-114 win against the Houston Rockets. However, he struggled to find his rhythm in Tuesday’s 123-105 road loss to the Golden State Warriors, only managing to score 25 points. Despite this setback, Lillard remains a fierce competitor and is sure to bring his A-game against the Pelicans.
But first off, lets look at the injury report and its looking like both teams are banged up. The Pelicans will be without Jose Alvarado and Zion Williamson, and Jonas Valanciunas is questionable as he is dealing with a left calf contusion. As for Portland, they are again without Jusuf Nurkic, Anfernee Simons and many others that aren’t on the starting lineup.
Looking into some trends, the Pelicans have just been awful on the ATS lately going 0-4 in their last 4 games overall. The last time these two teams met, Portland had no problem covering the spread at -9 on the road.
That said, I’m rolling with the Portland Trail Blazers to cover the spread at -1 and a half for my free pick of the day. Despite the back-to-back games for Portland, the Trail Blazers should have no problem covering this low spread.
