Phillies vs. Reds – Game Betting Preview & Prediction

Moneyline: Philadelphia -145
Spread: Philadelphia -1.5 (+122)
Total: 8.5

Philadelphia Phillies Betting Outlook

The Phillies send Cristopher Sanchez (11-3, 2.36 ERA) to the mound in Wednesday’s series finale, looking to bounce back after a quiet night offensively in Tuesday’s 6-1 loss. Sanchez has been one of Philadelphia’s most consistent arms this season, winning four of his last five starts and limiting opponents to just one run over six innings in his latest outing against Texas.

Lifetime against Cincinnati, Sanchez is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA across three starts. While the Phillies’ pitching has remained steady, the offense has struggled to find an early spark. They’ve gone hitless through the first four innings in three straight games, something manager Rob Thomson wants to change quickly. A fast start could be the key to covering the -145 moneyline in this spot and avoiding another road series loss.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Outlook

The Reds got exactly what they needed Tuesday, six shutout innings from Brady Singer, to even the series and keep pace in the Wild Card race. Now they turn to Hunter Greene (4-3, 2.72 ERA), who will make his first big-league appearance since June 3 after a right groin injury sidelined him for over two months.

Greene’s rehab work with Triple-A Louisville had mixed results, as he struck out 24 in 13 innings but also gave up four home runs. He’s 0-1 with a 4.63 ERA in two career starts against the Phillies. For Cincinnati, the stakes are high — they remain two games out of the final NL Wild Card spot and can’t afford to lose ground.

Miguel Andujar continues to be a bright spot, especially against left-handed pitching, going 21-for-51 (.412) with three homers this year versus southpaws, including one in Tuesday’s win. If the Reds can give Greene early run support, they could cash as home underdogs.

Prediction & Betting Angle

Sanchez’s current form gives Philadelphia the pitching edge, but Greene’s return could inject energy into a desperate Reds squad. Expect a competitive, lower-scoring battle early, with late offense determining the outcome.

Score Prediction: Phillies 4, Reds 3
Pick: Philadelphia (-145)
Total: Under 8.5 (-115)
