Atlanta’s decision to roll with a two-catcher system has been a stroke of genius. With Sean Murphy handling duties behind the plate and Drake Baldwin contributing as a designated hitter, the Braves’ offense has ignited since the All-Star break.
Baldwin has been particularly impressive, going 3-for-5 with a career-high six RBIs in Monday’s 9-5 win over San Francisco. The Braves’ lineup has averaged 6.7 runs per game over the past week, a sharp uptick from their season average of 4.2.
Davis Daniel will take the mound for Atlanta as they aim to extend the Giants’ misery. Daniel has limited MLB experience but showed promise in his last outing, tossing four innings of one-run ball against St. Louis. While the Braves’ rotation has been tested by injuries, their offense is currently doing the heavy lifting. Playing at home and favored at -110, Atlanta has a prime opportunity to claim another win.
San Francisco Giants Betting Preview
The Giants have lost six straight games and desperately need a turnaround. Landen Roupp (6-6, 3.27 ERA) gets the start and will try to halt their skid. Roupp was sharp in his last appearance, going six innings against the Dodgers while allowing only one earned run. He has pitched well against Atlanta in limited action, including a win back in June.
The Giants’ offense, however, has been inconsistent and hasn’t provided enough run support during this losing streak. With the team struggling to find rhythm at the plate, it will likely take another strong performance from Roupp to give San Francisco a fighting chance.

Atlanta’s current offensive momentum, combined with Baldwin and Murphy’s impact in the lineup, gives the Braves the upper hand. Roupp might keep things close early, but the Braves’ depth should be the difference.
