Seattle vs Toronto ALCS Game 2 Preview & Pick

Moneyline: Toronto -132
Spread: Toronto -1.5 (+155)
Total: 7.5

Seattle Mariners Betting Outlook

Seattle couldn’t have asked for a better start to the ALCS. The Mariners took Game 1 in Toronto 3-1, showcasing sharp pitching and steady composure despite coming off a marathon 15-inning win against Detroit just two nights earlier. Their momentum and bullpen depth continue to carry them through October, and they’ll look to build on that edge in Game 2 before the series shifts back home.

Right-hander Logan Gilbert gets the nod for Seattle. The 28-year-old has been clutch this postseason, posting a 1.13 ERA while showing the same calm, attacking presence that has defined his season. Gilbert threw two innings in relief during the ALDS clincher but reports feeling strong and ready. He hasn’t had great success historically against Toronto (0-2, 5.24 ERA in six starts), but the Mariners’ defense and confidence behind him are peaking at the right time.

Seattle’s lineup has been opportunistic, manufacturing runs through patient at-bats and timely contact. If Gilbert can keep Toronto’s power hitters quiet early, the Mariners could again frustrate the Jays and head back to Seattle with full control of the series.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Outlook

Toronto enters Game 2 under pressure after dropping the opener at home. The offense managed just one run in Game 1, continuing a trend of inconsistency when facing high-velocity pitching. Now, they’ll turn to rookie sensation Trey Yesavage to even the series. The 22-year-old has been electric this postseason, striking out 11 in 5.1 shutout innings against the Yankees in the ALDS.

Manager John Schneider is trusting the young arm despite having veterans like Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt available. Yesavage’s movement and poise make him a difficult matchup for hitters who haven’t seen him before, and Toronto is banking on that unfamiliarity to keep Seattle’s bats off-balance.

The Blue Jays’ veteran core, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and George Springer will need to ignite early against Gilbert. Falling behind 0-2 before heading to Seattle would be a massive blow, so expect Toronto to swing aggressively and test Seattle’s bullpen if Gilbert falters.

Prediction & Betting Angle

Seattle’s momentum and pitching consistency make them a dangerous underdog, but Toronto’s lineup is too talented to stay quiet for long. Expect a more explosive offensive game as both teams adjust to fresh arms and tighter stakes.

Score Prediction: Blue Jays 5, Mariners 4
Pick: Toronto (-132)
Total: Over 7.5 (-120)
