Game Preview

The Minnesota Wild are off to a competitive start in the NHL’s Central Division as they approach the 10-game mark of their season.

Returning from a successful 5-1-1 road swing, the Wild are set to begin a three-game homestand against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The extended road trip saw the Wild face tough opponents, including a decisive 4-2 victory in Tampa and a 5-1 win over the defending champion Florida Panthers. Their only regulation loss came in Philadelphia, where they held a lead before the Flyers rallied late in the game.

In their final road game, former Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury claimed his 563rd career victory against his former team, marking his 100th appearance with the Wild in what is expected to be his final season.

Coach John Hynes has praised the team’s mindset, as they continue to play with determination and focus as they prepare to host Tampa Bay.

The Lightning enter the matchup with momentum, riding a three-game win streak. Tampa Bay’s offense shined in their latest game against Colorado, with an early goal spree from Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel, and Conor Geekie. Kucherov, last season’s Art Ross Trophy winner, added to his impressive start with a goal and two assists, marking his 250th career multi-point game.

Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay’s star goalie, was a force in net, turning aside 33 shots to secure his 299th career win.

With both teams playing at a high level, the matchup promises to be a thrilling test for bettors, highlighting the Lightning’s offensive depth and the Wild’s sturdy home advantage.
