Arizona Diamondbacks: Limping In Like a Cactus

The Diamondbacks (52-59) are in full “someone unplugged the fridge” mode. They’ve lost 8 of their last 10, their bats are colder than a Vegas craps table at 4 a.m., and their pitching has more holes than a golf course. Hitting just .204 as a team lately, Arizona is showing the offensive firepower of a wet sponge.

Enter Eduardo Rodriguez, who’s been generously donating runs like it’s a GoFundMe for opposing lineups. A 5.63 ERA and 1.65 WHIP scream “danger,” and not the good kind, more like “hide your betslip” danger. Rodriguez has been walking more hitters than your uncle at a charity 5K.

To be fair, Ketel Marte and Alek Thomas are trying their best. Marte’s been launching baseballs into orbit all season, and Thomas has flashed signs of life recently. But the rest of the lineup? It’s giving “we just showed up for the sunflower seeds.”

Athletics: Winning… Unironically?

Wait, are the A’s hot?! Like, actually hot?

Athletics is 7-3 over their last 10, hitting .282 as a team and pitching like they finally found the secret setting on the bullpen coffee maker. They’ve outscored opponents by 27 runs during this stretch, which is about 27 more than expected.

Jack Perkins (yes, real name) takes the mound for just his second career start. And while he’s barely seen more than a handful of major league hitters, he’s rocking a 2.75 ERA and a WHIP under 1.00. Either he’s the next Cy Young, or no one’s told him he’s supposed to be nervous.

Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers have been mashing lately, and the A’s are quietly ranked 6th in the league in home runs. Which is shocking, considering half their lineup still sounds like fictional movie extras.

Betting Odds & Score Prediction

This one’s got runs written all over it and chaos. Arizona’s pitching is leaky, Oakland is randomly competent, and Jack Perkins sounds like he should be managing a diner, not starting MLB games.

A’s take the series, and we all pretend we saw it coming.

Final Score Prediction:  Athletics 6, Diamondbacks 5
