Carolina (-122) vs. Winnipeg | Total: 5.5

Two Stanley Cup contenders clash on Tuesday night as the red-hot Winnipeg Jets look to extend their six-game winning streak while hosting a Carolina Hurricanes squad still adjusting to its new lineup.

Winnipeg Jets: Can They Keep the Streak Alive?

Winnipeg (33-12-5) has been firing on all cylinders, winning six straight and outscoring opponents 28-13 in that span. Their latest victory—a thrilling 5-4 overtime win over the Washington Capitals—solidified their status as a serious Cup contender.

Despite a grueling schedule, with Tuesday marking their 11th game in 22 days, the Jets have maintained their intensity. Head coach Scott Arniel acknowledges the heavy workload but believes his team’s competitive mindset is a difference-maker.

“At the end of the day, we’re all winners in here,” forward Gabriel Vilardi said. “We all have that competitive drive to win every game.”

Winnipeg has been dominant at home and will look to maintain that form before the NHL’s upcoming two-week break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Facing Carolina, one of the league’s strongest road teams, will be a crucial test.

Carolina Hurricanes: New Faces, Same Playoff Aspirations

Carolina (30-15-5) has been solid, winning six of its last eight, but its defensive play needs tightening after a 4-2 home loss to the Los Angeles Kings. The recent acquisitions of Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall were intended to bolster the Canes’ attack, but the chemistry is still developing.

Since arriving, Rantanen has recorded one goal and an assist, while Hall is still searching for his first tally in a Hurricanes uniform. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour wasn’t pleased with the team’s effort against LA, particularly the costly breakdowns leading to odd-man rushes.

“I didn’t love the goals we gave,” Brind’Amour said. “Not in the NHL. Not against good teams, give them breakaways and 2-on-1s out of nothing. That’s a big concern.”

Carolina’s defense will be tested against a Winnipeg squad that has been relentless on offense. This game will be a measuring stick for how well the new additions are fitting in and whether the Canes are ready to contend down the stretch.

Betting Predictions & Best Bets

Moneyline Pick: Winnipeg Jets (+102) → The Jets are on fire, winning six straight, and getting plus odds at home is excellent value.

Total Pick: Over 5.5 → Both teams have high-powered offenses, and with Carolina still working out defensive issues, expect goals.

Player Prop: Mikko Rantanen Anytime Goal Scorer → The former Avalanche star is due for a breakout performance in his new role with the Hurricanes.

Player Prop: Kyle Connor Over 2.5 Shots on Goal → Connor remains a shooting machine for Winnipeg and should be heavily involved in the attack.

This should be a tightly contested battle, but with the way Winnipeg is playing, it’s hard to bet against them at home.

Final Score Prediction: Jets 4, Hurricanes 3.
