Game Preview

**Liberty and Wings Clash Again Just Days After Last Encounter**

After their matchup on Tuesday, the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings are set to face off once more.

The Liberty (24-4) are aiming for their eighth consecutive victory as they host the Wings on Thursday night.

In their last game, New York managed a convincing 94-74 victory despite missing key players Sabrina Ionescu (neck) and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton (knee). Breanna Stewart (26 points, 12 rebounds), Jonquel Jones (23 points, 12 rebounds), and Courtney Vandersloot (15 points, 11 assists) shone brightly, making it only the second time in franchise history that three Liberty players recorded double-doubles in a single game.

"I’m really proud of this team," Liberty coach Sandy Brondello said. "We had to grind it out, and while it wasn’t always pretty, we still scored 94 points and held a dangerous team to 74. To win championships, we need to rely on our bench. We have a great Big Three, but the supporting players also step up and contribute."

While the Liberty enjoy the league’s best record, the Wings find themselves at the bottom of the standings, sitting in 10th place in the 12-team WNBA. Dallas has struggled recently, losing five of their last six games and allowing over 100 points in three of those losses.

However, the Wings have received a boost with the recent returns of Maddy Siegrist (finger) and Satou Sabally (shoulder) from injury. Siegrist, coming off the bench in the last loss, has emerged as a standout in her sophomore season, averaging 14.0 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Sabally, a two-time All-Star, has made an impressive return, averaging 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in her first two games of the season. She scored 24 points with five boards and four assists against the Liberty on Tuesday.

Though a playoff run seems unlikely for the Wings, Sabally is excited to be back on the court and is determined to help her team secure some wins to finish the season positively.

"I feel 100 percent," Sabally stated about her confidence. "I’ve always believed in my abilities. Having played some games during the Olympics has helped. I’m just thrilled to be playing again. This has been a tough time for me, and I’m just happy to be back."
