The Tigers (84-62) are in full control of this season series, winning four of five against New York and outscoring them by a lopsided 37-9 margin. They now have the chance to secure their first sweep in the Bronx since 2008.
Detroit’s offense has caught fire, piling up 28 runs across the first two games of this series. Wednesday’s 11-1 rout featured 16 hits, including homers from Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, and Colt Keith. Former Yankee Gleyber Torres added three RBIs, while Parker Meadows kept his hot streak alive after his go-ahead knock in Tuesday’s explosive ninth inning.
