Houston Astros Outlook
The Astros head to Sacramento looking more unpredictable than your uncle at a wedding open bar. At 84-72, they’re still clinging to playoff hopes, but their form has been wildly inconsistent. One night they look like juggernauts, the next they look like a Triple-A showcase.
Cristian Javier (2-3, 4.45 ERA) will take the mound, and while his ERA says “decent enough,” his record screams, “please give me some run support.” He’s been striking out batters here and there, but Houston’s offense has been about as reliable as a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Jose Altuve continues to be the heartbeat of the lineup, with 26 homers and the same fiery energy that makes opposing pitchers groan.
