Houston Astros Betting Preview
The Astros have shown up big in L.A., winning the first two games and threatening to sweep the Dodgers on their home turf. Houston dominated Game 1 in an 18-1 rout and followed that with a gritty 6-4 win on Saturday. Their offense has been timely, with Zack Short’s clutch double and Yainer Diaz’s homer fueling the victory.
Manager Joe Espada will turn to rookie Ryan Gusto (5-3, 4.90 ERA) to finish the job. Gusto has yet to face the Dodgers but has shown promise despite some inconsistency. Houston’s bullpen, which just welcomed back veteran reliever Hector Neris, has been lights out, delivering six straight scoreless innings to open the series.
Houston has not lost a series since late May, and their momentum is undeniable.
Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
The Dodgers look to avoid the broom after back-to-back losses against a surging Astros squad. While they welcomed back Emmet Sheehan (0-0, 2.25 ERA) for a strong four-inning outing on June 18, he was quickly optioned back to Triple-A. Now back again, Sheehan gets a chance to steady L.A.’s rotation before Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell return from injury.
Despite Shohei Ohtani giving them a solid two scoreless innings on Saturday, the Dodgers couldn’t hold the lead. Their lineup hasn’t exploded in the series, and defensive miscues haven’t helped either.
Manager Dave Roberts knows the time to pull it together is now, especially with division and playoff seeding at stake.

The Dodgers are rightly favored at -183 with Sheehan on the mound, but the Astros are a live dog with serious momentum. Gusto is a bit of a wild card, but Houston’s lineup is locked in, and the bullpen’s been elite.
