Game Preview
The Las Vegas Aces aim to complete their road sweep against the Indiana Fever on Friday, with league MVP contender A’ja Wilson leading the charge in Indianapolis.
In their last meeting, Wilson shone brightly, scoring 27 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to help the Aces (23-13) clinch an 86-75 win while setting a new WNBA single-season scoring record. Wilson’s performance pushed her to a season total of 956 points, surpassing the previous record of 939.
"It’s a relief to have the record behind us," Wilson remarked postgame. "It was becoming a bit of a distraction, so it’s nice to focus on just playing now."
Meanwhile, Fever star Caitlin Clark struggled, scoring 16 points but only making one of her ten three-point attempts, marking a rare off night in her otherwise stellar run that has seen Indiana (19-18) win eight of their last 11 games.
Aliyah Boston also had a subdued night for the Fever, managing only six points, which tied her season low since a July matchup against the Washington Mystics.
The Aces’ defense, ranked among the best in the league, proved a tough challenge for Indiana, which prides itself on a robust offensive game.
