The Phillies are in a groove and are pushing for first place in the NL East. They’ve already taken the first two games of this series, outscoring the Yankees 21-9 while piling up 27 hits. A win on Sunday would seal a three-game sweep in New York, something they also accomplished back in 1997 against the reigning World Series champs.
Bryce Harper is red-hot, with five homers in his last eight games while hitting .347 over his last 12. Trea Turner is seeing the ball just as well, going 10-for-20 over his past four contests. Kyle Schwarber has been a nightmare for pitchers since the All-Star break, batting .353 with six home runs and 15 RBIs in eight games. Catcher J.T. Realmuto is also heating up, hitting .394 over his last 17 games.
Right-hander Zack Wheeler (9-3, 2.39 ERA) gets the ball, looking for his 10th win of the season. While Wheeler has struggled historically against New York (1-2, 7.18 ERA in five starts), his current form is elite, including five double-digit strikeout games this year.
New York Yankees Betting Preview
The Yankees are reeling and will be without Aaron Judge, who was placed on the injured list with a flexor strain in his right elbow.
