The Indiana Fever, who only managed 13 wins last season, have a chance to match that total with a win against the Seattle Storm on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis.
The Fever are riding high after a 98-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury, their first game back from the WNBA’s Olympic break. Caitlin Clark led the charge with 29 points and 10 assists, marking her 10th double-double of the season and her ninth in the past 12 games.
Clark emphasized the importance of the victory against the Mercury. "It’s huge. It sets the tone for the rest of the season," she said. "Winning this one is a step in the right direction."
Indiana has been on a roll, winning five of their last eight games. Clark is averaging 17.6 points per game, and the Fever are aiming to secure their first win of the season against the Storm.
Seattle (17-9) is looking to rebound after a narrow 83-81 loss to the Atlanta Dream on Friday. Skylar Diggins-Smith, who scored 29 points against Atlanta, is expected to play a crucial role in getting the Storm back on track.
