Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
The Dodgers are heavy favorites as Shohei Ohtani prepares for his return to the mound in Wednesday’s series finale at Dodger Stadium. After a cramp in his hip cut short last week’s outing, Ohtani is expected to pitch around four innings, still working back from 2023’s Tommy John revision surgery.
Despite the limited innings, Ohtani brings a 2.40 ERA into this start and is capable of giving LA early control. He’s also swinging a hot bat again with five straight games with a hit, and his 9 home runs since July show he’s far from fatigued.
Tuesday night’s 12-6 win was a statement. The offense exploded for 17 hits with Max Muncy and Teoscar Hernández each launching two homers and driving in four. Mookie Betts snapped out of a slump with a three-hit night, ending an 0-for-22 drought. The Dodgers look like they’re heating up at the right time.
St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview
Matthew Liberatore will get the nod for St. Louis and enters with solid recent form, six of his last seven starts have been two earned runs or fewer. That said, he’s yet to face the Dodgers as a starter and holds a bloated 7.27 ERA in six relief appearances against them.
Offensively, the Cardinals saw some bright spots in Tuesday’s loss. Nolan Gorman blasted his 10th homer of the season, and Willson Contreras added his 16th. Still, this team has dropped momentum and lacks consistency to keep pace with an awakened LA lineup.
