Texas Rangers – Hot Streak and deGrom Domination

The Texas Rangers (56-50) have suddenly found their groove, winning nine of their last ten games and pitching like it’s a crime to allow runs. With an elite 1.68 ERA during this stretch, their pitchers are basically throwing BBs while the offense is quietly scraping together just enough hits to keep the party going.

Enter Jacob deGrom (10-2, 2.28 ERA), who will look to keep the Angels swinging at air. DeGrom is the kind of guy who probably strikes out his own reflection in the bathroom mirror. Texas is also lethal when the bats wake up, boasting a 36-17 record when they collect eight or more hits.

Josh Smith has been sneaky hot for Texas, hitting .277 with 17 doubles and some key pop. And don’t sleep on Kyle Higashioka, who’s batting .351 (13-for-37) over his last ten games with a couple of bombs.

Los Angeles Angels – Home Runs or Bust

The Angels (51-55) are living by the long ball and dying by everything else. Ranking fourth in MLB with 151 home runs, they either slug their way to glory or quietly fade into the dugout. Taylor Ward leads the charge with 24 homers, 77 RBIs, and the occasional death stare at opposing pitchers.

The real wild card? Jack Kochanowicz. He’s making his MLB debut, and nobody knows if he’s going to look like a future ace or a guy who throws meatballs for a living. Nolan Schanuel has been holding it down for the Angels lately, hitting .342 (13-for-38) over his last ten games with three doubles.

The Angels are 4-6 over their last ten games, allowing more runs than they’re scoring, which is never the formula for success. And facing a red-hot Rangers squad led by deGrom doesn’t exactly scream “get right game.”

Prediction

Unless Kochanowicz delivers the rookie game of his life, the Angels might be in for a long night. Texas’ pitching edge, paired with their recent dominance, makes them the clear favorite.

Final Score Prediction:  Rangers 5, Angels 2
Bets Bet: Texas -1.5 (-115)
