Game Preview

As the Steelers gear up for Thursday night’s AFC North clash against the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Russell Wilson is keeping the focus on staying grounded despite Pittsburgh’s impressive run. With an 8-2 record and riding a five-game win streak, the Steelers are inching closer to an AFC North title, but Wilson stresses the importance of taking things one game at a time.

“I think we have the potential for a deep playoff run,” Wilson said. “The key is focusing on each day, each moment, and not looking too far ahead.”

Pittsburgh’s defense has been dominant, allowing just 16.2 points per game, the second-best in the NFL. On Sunday, the Steelers edged the Ravens 18-16, powered by six field goals from Chris Boswell and a solid outing from Wilson, who threw for 205 yards.

Meanwhile, the Browns (2-8) are in a downward spiral, losing seven of their last eight games, including a 35-14 blowout against the Saints. Cleveland quarterback Jameis Winston knows his offense faces an uphill battle against the Steelers’ elite defense.

“It’s about precision and execution,” Winston said. “The Steelers won’t try to trick you. They’ll line up and challenge you to bring your best.”

Winston threw for 395 yards and two touchdowns against New Orleans, with Jerry Jeudy tallying 142 receiving yards and a score. However, the Browns’ run game remains lackluster, with Nick Chubb managing just 50 yards on 11 carries as he works his way back from injury.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski sees Thursday’s game as an opportunity.

“Pittsburgh is a tough, well-coached team. We need a sharp week of preparation,” Stefanski said.

The Browns may be without defensive star Myles Garrett (hip), while key players like Denzel Ward and Elijah Moore remain questionable. For Pittsburgh, linebacker Alex Highsmith (ankle) missed practice, but cornerback Cory Trice Jr. looks ready to go.

With one of the league’s top defenses and momentum on their side, the Steelers are well-positioned to capitalize on Cleveland’s struggles. From a betting angle, Pittsburgh looks like a strong choice, especially with their consistent play and Cleveland’s inability to compete against quality opponents.
