Game Preview

Heading into Week 14, the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals face off in a game with surprising stakes: the NFC West division lead. While many expected this matchup to be more about avoiding the basement or jockeying for draft position, it’s now a key battle in the divisional race.

The Seahawks (7-5), riding a three-game winning streak, lead the division by one game over both the Cardinals (6-6) and the Los Angeles Rams (6-6). The Seahawks are gaining momentum after a midseason slump, while Arizona aims to bounce back from two tough losses.

Seattle already claimed the upper hand against Arizona in their previous meeting, a 16-6 win on Nov. 24. That game saw standout defensive performances, including Leonard Williams’ 2.5 sacks and a pick-six by Coby Bryant. Williams continued his dominance last week against the Jets, recording two sacks, a blocked kick, and a 92-yard interception return, earning him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Despite their recent success, the Seahawks have special teams issues to address after a shaky outing in their win over the Jets. Injuries could also play a role, with starting RB Kenneth Walker III ruled out and punter Michael Dickson questionable. On offense, Tyler Lockett may be called upon for return duties, highlighting Seattle’s versatility.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are trying to shake off frustration from their 23-22 loss to Minnesota, where penalties and missed opportunities cost them. Quarterback Kyler Murray threw two late-game interceptions, overshadowing a solid connection with tight end Trey McBride, who has recorded consecutive 12-catch games.

Arizona will need to clean up its mistakes to stay in the divisional hunt. Murray’s ability to capitalize in the red zone and avoid turnovers will be critical. On the injury front, the Cardinals will be without CB Elijah Jones, with defensive linemen Dante Stills and Naquan Jones questionable.

Betting Insight:
The Seahawks, coming off a string of strong performances, are well-positioned to extend their dominance over Arizona, especially with their defensive stars shining. However, Arizona’s desperation and Murray’s chemistry with McBride could keep this game closer than expected.
