WNBA Preview and Prediction: New York Liberty vs. Las Vegas Aces

Spread: Las Vegas -2.5 | Total: 171.5

Las Vegas Aces Betting Breakdown

The defending champions are heating up at just the right time, riding a four-game winning streak into this home showdown. The catalyst? A’ja Wilson, who just delivered one of the most jaw-dropping performances in WNBA history, 32 points and 20 rebounds, marking the first 30-20 game ever in the league.

Wilson’s dominance erased an early defensive lapse against Connecticut, where the Aces allowed 31 first-quarter points. Jackie Young has been a steady offensive contributor as well, adding 21 points in the win.

Las Vegas enters at 18-14 overall and 10-5 at home, currently holding the fifth spot in the standings. With momentum, home-court advantage, and their superstar in MVP form, the Aces are a worthy favorite at -2.5, especially against a Liberty team on short rest.

New York Liberty Betting Breakdown

The Liberty (21-11) step into this game less than 24 hours removed from their highest-scoring performance of the season, a 105-97 road win over the Sparks. They shot a sizzling 55.9% from the field and 50% from three (14-for-28), led by Emma Meesseman’s season-high 24 points and nine rebounds, and Jonquel Jones’ 21-point, 11-rebound double-double.

However, this win came just two days after their third-lowest scoring game of the season, a 71-point output against Minnesota. New York has struggled historically in back-to-back situations — the only other time they faced it this season, they lost at home to Los Angeles, sparking a four-game skid.

The Liberty remain shorthanded with Breanna Stewart (knee) missing her eighth straight game, along with Nyara Sabally (knee) and Isabelle Harrison (concussion) still sidelined. That lack of depth could be a real factor late against an Aces squad that thrives in transition and attacks the glass.

Prediction & Betting Angle

While the Liberty have the shooting to keep this competitive, fatigue and injuries make this a tough spot. The Aces’ interior dominance, combined with Wilson’s historic form, tilts the edge toward the home side. Expect a fast-paced, high-scoring matchup, but Las Vegas should have just enough to cover.
