Washington Huskies – Riding Momentum into Big Ten Play

The Washington Huskies return home to Seattle after pulling off one of the most dramatic comebacks of the season. Down by 20 points in the second half at Maryland, Washington stormed back behind quarterback Demond Williams Jr., who threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, both in the fourth quarter to secure a 24-20 victory.

Williams has grown from a promising backup into one of the Big Ten’s most electric dual-threat quarterbacks. With a 75.4% completion rate and just two interceptions across two seasons, he’s proving to be the engine of a Huskies offense that can strike quickly.

Running back Jonah Coleman is another key weapon, leading the nation in rushing touchdowns (10) and ranking third in the Big Ten in rushing yards (474). When Coleman gets rolling, Washington’s offense is nearly unstoppable.

Defensively, the Huskies are getting a boost with several key returnees, including tackle Jayvon Parker, linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale, and cornerback Tacario Davis. Those additions should help solidify a defense that’s been dominant late in games, outscoring opponents 73-10 in the fourth quarter this season.

The Huskies have covered the spread in three of their last four at home, and with momentum, health, and firepower on their side, Washington looks poised to deliver another statement win.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights – Searching for a Full 60 Minutes

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have shown flashes of strong play, but finishing games has been their downfall. Consecutive losses to Iowa and Minnesota saw the defense crumble in the fourth quarter, turning potential wins into heartbreaks.

Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis leads a well-balanced offense with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions, while running back Antwan Raymond has powered the ground game with 471 yards and nine touchdowns. Offensively, Rutgers can hang with almost anyone, but its defense must find a way to sustain intensity against Washington’s high-octane attack.

Head coach Greg Schiano knows the challenge of containing Williams and Coleman, calling the Huskies’ QB “one of the most dynamic players” he’s ever faced. Rutgers’ secondary will have its hands full, and the front seven must step up to slow down Washington’s balanced offense.

After a much-needed bye week, Rutgers will come in rested and focused, but winning in Seattle is a tall order against one of the Big Ten’s most explosive teams.

Final Betting Take

Washington’s offense is in midseason form and nearly impossible to contain when Williams and Coleman are in sync. Rutgers’ resilience will keep it close early, but expect the Huskies to pull away late and cover comfortably at home.
