Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview
Oklahoma City heads into Game 4 carrying all the momentum after completely flipping the Western Conference finals over the last two games. The Thunder now lead the series 2-1, and despite constant hostility from the San Antonio crowd, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues looking completely unfazed under playoff pressure.
The MVP guard embraced every “flopper” chant thrown his way Friday night while calmly leading Oklahoma City to a dominant 123-108 victory. Even though his shooting efficiency has dipped to 39.1 percent in this series, Gilgeous-Alexander still controls games with elite decision-making and composure.
The biggest difference has been his ability to attack mistakes defensively. Shai has already gone 26-for-27 at the free-throw line against San Antonio because the Spurs continue losing discipline whenever he attacks downhill. Even when his jump shot cools off, he still creates efficient offense possession after possession.
What makes Oklahoma City especially dangerous right now is the supporting cast suddenly exploding offensively. Alex Caruso has become one of the postseason’s most surprising contributors, averaging 21 points in the series while completely changing games with energy, defense, and timely scoring. Jared McCain has also provided a major spark off the bench.
That second-unit production has been a complete mismatch. Oklahoma City’s bench has outscored San Antonio’s 183-64 through three games, which is honestly the type of stat that usually decides playoff series quickly.
The Thunder are also surviving injuries remarkably well again. Jalen Williams remains questionable with a hamstring injury while Ajay Mitchell exited Game 3 with a leg issue, yet Oklahoma City continues finding answers offensively.
This team looks confident, deep, and mentally tougher with every passing game.
Player Prop Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 28.5 Points
Even with aggressive defensive pressure, Shai’s constant trips to the free-throw line should carry him comfortably past this scoring number again.
San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview
San Antonio suddenly finds itself under enormous pressure after watching a perfect Game 3 start completely collapse. The Spurs opened Friday with a 15-0 run and looked ready to reclaim control of the series before Oklahoma City calmly responded and dominated the rest of the night.
Now Game 4 feels almost like a must-win situation for a young Spurs roster still learning how to survive deep playoff basketball.
Victor Wembanyama continues producing massive scoring performances, including 26 points Friday night, but Oklahoma City’s physical defense clearly frustrated him on the glass. After dominating the offensive boards earlier in the series, Wembanyama finished with only four rebounds and zero offensive rebounds in Game 3.
The Thunder have constantly changed defensive looks against the 7-foot-4 superstar. Alex Caruso has used physical pressure and quickness while Isaiah Hartenstein has added size inside. The combination has forced Wembanyama into tougher possessions than he saw earlier in the postseason.
Still, Wembanyama remains capable of completely taking over any playoff game. His ability to score from anywhere on the floor creates matchup nightmares, especially when San Antonio pushes pace and forces transition opportunities.
The possible return of De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper also gives the Spurs hope offensively. Fox clearly looked limited by his ankle Friday, but another day of rest could help significantly. Harper’s availability provides additional ball handling against Oklahoma City’s relentless perimeter pressure.
The Spurs know they cannot afford another disastrous second-half collapse if they want to keep this series competitive.
Player Prop Pick: Victor Wembanyama Over 13.5 Rebounds
Expect a far more aggressive rebounding effort from Wembanyama after Oklahoma City controlled the paint in Game 3.
Prediction
San Antonio should respond with desperation at home, but Oklahoma City’s depth and defensive discipline continue creating major advantages throughout this series.
The Thunder simply look more composed late in games right now, especially whenever momentum swings become critical.
