Seattle Storm: Turnover Disaster Zone
The Storm are currently spinning around like someone hit the “randomize controls” button on a video game controller. Seattle has dropped three straight road games and just got smacked around by expansion Toronto, which is basically the basketball version of getting cooked by the new kid in gym class.
Natisha Hiedeman tried to save the day with 18 points and seven assists, while Jordan Horston added 15 points. Unfortunately, the Storm also handed the ball away 18 times like they were running a charity event. Seattle lost the free-throw battle 31-7, which is usually not ideal unless your strategy involves emotional damage.
Dominique Malonga remains sidelined in concussion protocol, and without her scoring punch, Seattle’s offense has looked shakier than a buffet table at a Vegas wedding chapel.
The bigger concern? The Storm completely collapsed in the second half Saturday. Again. Opposing teams are treating halftime adjustments like cheat codes against Seattle lately.
Dallas Wings: Scoring Machine Activated
Meanwhile in Dallas, the Wings suddenly look like the WNBA version of a team nobody wants to deal with in June. Dallas has won four of its last five games and just knocked off the defending champion Aces despite Arike Ogunbowale scoring one lonely point and spending the fourth quarter watching like the rest of us.
Jessica Shepard turned into a basketball cyborg Thursday with 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists for her second triple-double of the season. At one point she was basically rebounding her own atmosphere.
Azzi Fudd also exploded for 22 points in her first start, Paige Bueckers added 20, and Awak Kuier chipped in 12 off the bench. Dallas erased an eight-point halftime deficit and dominated the second half against Vegas, which is the sports equivalent of flipping over the Monopoly board after landing on Boardwalk.
Coach Jose Fernandez has this team playing fast, confident, and deep. Dallas suddenly has multiple scoring options, strong rebounding, and enough momentum to make sportsbooks nervous.
LVSB Final Score Prediction
Seattle’s turnovers and second-half meltdowns are a dangerous recipe against a Dallas team playing with swagger and depth. Unless the Storm suddenly discover defense, rebounding, and ball security all at once, this could get ugly quickly.
Final Score: Wings 93, Storm 76
