Blue Jays at Rangers – Game Preview, Prediction and Player Props

Moneyline: Texas -135 | Total: 8.5

Texas Rangers Outlook

The Rangers are set to get a major offensive lift as Corey Seager is expected to return to the lineup as DH after missing 15 straight games with a hamstring issue. With Seager back, Texas gets one of the most feared bats in the league, which should boost the entire lineup’s production.

Texas snapped out of a season-worst six-game slump by taking two of their last three, including Tuesday’s 2-0 victory where Josh Jung delivered the game-winning hit. On the mound, Tyler Mahle (5-2, 1.80 ERA) gets the ball. He finally looked human last outing, giving up a season-high three runs, but still showed resilience. Despite not having his best command, Mahle has held opponents to two or fewer runs in 10 of 11 starts this season.

Prediction: With Seager’s return and Mahle on the mound, the Rangers have the edge. Look for a low-scoring battle with Texas edging this one out.

Prop Picks (Rangers):

Corey Seager – Total Bases Over 1.5: Returning fresh and eager, Seager should capitalize in a DH role against a shaky Toronto bullpen.
Tyler Mahle – Over 4.5 Strikeouts: Facing a Toronto lineup that’s been cold, Mahle has a good shot to rack up punchouts.

Toronto Blue Jays Outlook

Toronto continues to stumble offensively, averaging under a run per inning during a 1-4 slide. They’ll turn to Paxton Schultz, a 26-year-old right-hander making just his second MLB start. Schultz gave up three earned over four innings in his debut, and his minor league numbers suggest control issues and susceptibility to hard contact.

Throwing him into a road start against a Rangers team regaining momentum and with Corey Seager returning is a tough spot. Toronto’s bullpen may get called in early if Schultz falters again.

The Blue Jays’ offense has been flatlined lately, with stars like Guerrero Jr. and Springer offering minimal support. Unless Toronto’s bats finally wake up, they’re staring at another frustrating night in Arlington.

Prediction: If Schultz can’t get past the fourth and the Jays remain cold at the plate, Texas will likely pull away again in a game that could turn lopsided.

Prop Picks (Blue Jays):

Bo Bichette – Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs: He’s due for a bounce-back night and might be the one to jumpstart Toronto’s bats.
Paxton Schultz – Under 13.5 Outs Recorded: With limited big-league experience and a potent Texas lineup, he’ll likely get chased early.

Final Score Prediction:

Expect a tighter game, but Seager’s return and Mahle’s consistency tip the scales toward Texas.

Final Score Prediction: Rangers 5, Blue Jays 3
Lean: Texas RL -1.5 (+150)
Total:
Under 8.5 (-110)
