Reds vs. Royals – Betting Preview & Prediction
Moneyline: Cincinnati -125 | Total: 7.5
Cincinnati Reds Outlook
The Reds are heating up, and they’re sending their ace Hunter Greene to the mound as they look to complete the sweep in Kansas City. Greene, who boasts a 2.54 ERA this season, was an All-Star in 2024 and remains one of the nastiest young arms in the league. After returning from a groin strain, Greene was on a pitch count in his last outing versus the Cubs, but expect him to stretch out more in this one.
Offensively, Cincinnati has been clicking, scoring 14 runs over the first two games of the series and 28 total in their last four. Elly De La Cruz is showing off his power with a two-homer game Tuesday, while Tyler Stephenson has also gone deep in back-to-back contests. Add TJ Friedl’s .467 average over his last eight games, and this Reds lineup is suddenly dangerous.
Prediction: Expect Cincinnati’s offense to keep the pressure on, and with Greene extending deeper into the game, they’re in prime position to grab their fourth win in five.
Kansas City Royals Preview
The Royals are stumbling. Losers of six of their last seven at home, they’ve managed just three innings with runs scored in this series. Bobby Witt Jr. is slumping badly (7-for-41 in his last 10), and Kansas City is struggling to generate consistent offense.
However, the one shining light is rookie left-hander Noah Cameron. He’s been outstanding across his first three MLB starts, posting a sparkling 0.93 ERA. His eight-strikeout performance against Minnesota last week nearly carried the Royals to a win, but the offense let him down again.
Maikel Garcia is doing his part with a .370 average during his 12-game hit streak, but it’s clear Kansas City needs more from its stars if they want to avoid a sweep.
Prediction: Cameron can’t do it all himself. Unless the bats wake up, the Royals are staring down another loss with little margin for error.
Final Score Prediction:
Cincinnati rides momentum and a bounce-back outing from Greene to close the series strong.
