Game Preview

Two struggling teams look to revive their seasons when the New York Giants host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night in East Rutherford, N.J.

The Giants (2-3) return home after a 29-20 road win against the Seahawks, aiming to reach .500. Meanwhile, the Bengals (1-4) are trying to bounce back from a heartbreaking 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens last week.

New York is dealing with several key injuries, including star linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux (wrist) and wide receiver Malik Nabers (concussion). Running back Devin Singletary (groin) is trending towards playing after limited practice participation. In their win over Seattle, the Giants posted a season-best 420 total yards, and their defense has allowed just 20.8 points per game. Dexter Lawrence has led the way with six sacks through five games.

Cincinnati, on the other hand, has faced disappointment after disappointment. Despite three separate 10-point leads against Baltimore, a late interception by Joe Burrow and a botched field goal attempt in overtime sealed their fate. Burrow had an impressive game with five touchdowns and 392 yards passing, but the team still fell short. The Bengals are scoring 28 points per game and rank top 10 in both total and passing offense, but they need to tighten up defensively.

With injuries on both sides, including Cincinnati’s DJ Ivey and Mike Hilton (knee), both teams will be battling to get back on track in this crucial Week 6 matchup.
