Boston Looks to Stay Hot at Madison Square Garden
The Boston Bruins are coming off one of their best performances of the season, dominating the Rangers 6-3 on Saturday and following it up with a 3-0 shutout against the Minnesota Wild. Now, they’ll try to carry that momentum into Madison Square Garden as they look to take the season series lead against New York.
Boston’s resurgence has been fueled by David Pastrnak, who has been on an absolute tear, scoring 10 goals in his last 11 games and extending his point streak to 11 straight games (24 points). The Bruins are 7-3-1 in their last 11 games, bouncing back from a rough six-game skid in early January.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman was sharp against Minnesota, stopping 35 shots for a shutout win. Boston has scored at least three goals in seven of its last 11 games, and with Charlie McAvoy back in the lineup (two goals in three games since returning from injury), the Bruins look poised to challenge the Rangers again.
Rangers Seeking Revenge After Sloppy Loss
The New York Rangers got hit hard in Boston, but they responded with a come-from-behind 4-2 win over the Golden Knights on Sunday. The Rangers scored three third-period goals, powered by new acquisition J.T. Miller, who made an immediate impact by assisting on power-play goals from Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin.
Miller’s return adds a much-needed spark to a Rangers team that went 0-2-1 in the three games before their win over Vegas, getting outscored 15-7 in that stretch. The Rangers, however, remain strong at home and will try to bounce back from their 6-3 defeat in Boston by tightening up their defense.
The injury to Adam Edstrom leaves a gap on the fourth line, but Jimmy Vesey is expected to step in and bring energy.
Betting Prediction
Boston has been surging, but playing the second night of a back-to-back in New York is always a challenge. The Rangers’ third-period explosion against Vegas suggests they’re getting back on track, and with J.T. Miller boosting their offense, they should come out strong.
Prediction: The Rangers (-185) get their revenge in a close battle, with the game pushing the total over 6.0.
