SEC Tournament Betting Preview: Georgia vs. Oklahoma

Spread: Georgia -4.0 | Total: 149.0

Georgia Bulldogs Outlook

The Georgia Bulldogs (20-11) are riding high as they enter their SEC Tournament opener against the Oklahoma Sooners (19-12) on Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn. The Bulldogs have already solidified their NCAA Tournament spot, but a strong conference tournament could improve their seeding.

Head coach Mike White has emphasized that his team isn’t taking anything for granted, despite winning four straight games to close the regular season.

“Nothing has changed for us,” White said. “Every game is about growth and continuing to improve. We’re playing our best basketball, and we want that to continue.”

Georgia’s late-season surge was highlighted by an 88-83 upset of then-No. 3 Florida on Feb. 25, proving they can hang with top-tier competition.

A key to the Bulldogs’ success has been sophomore point guard Silas Demary Jr., who has caught fire down the stretch. During the winning streak, he’s averaging 19.5 points per game, shooting 53.1% from the field and 47.8% from deep.

Georgia has won four straight games, covering the spread in three of them
The Bulldogs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against Oklahoma
Georgia dominated the free-throw line (27-of-37) in the first matchup vs. Oklahoma

Oklahoma Sooners Outlook

The Oklahoma Sooners enter this win-or-go-home matchup fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives. The No. 14 seed in the SEC, Oklahoma stumbled through conference play, but two late-season victories over Missouri and Texas have kept their at-large tournament hopes alive.

Back-to-back last-possession losses to Kentucky (83-82) and Ole Miss (87-84) nearly derailed Oklahoma’s season, but head coach Porter Moser has kept the Sooners focused.

“We just had to stay resilient,” Moser said. “This team still believes it has more to prove.”

A major X-factor for Oklahoma will be freshman point guard Jeremiah Fears, who has been on a tear despite struggling in the first matchup against Georgia (1-for-11 shooting, 4 turnovers). Over the last four games, Fears is averaging 18.8 points and 5.5 assists.

Oklahoma’s biggest challenge will be avoiding foul trouble, as they only attempted 9 free throws in their 72-62 loss to Georgia earlier this season, compared to the Bulldogs’ 37 attempts.

Key Trends & Betting Notes – Oklahoma
Oklahoma is 5-1 ATS in its last six neutral-site games
The Sooners have hit the Over in four of their last five matchups
Oklahoma is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games overall

Betting Prediction & Best Bets

This game will likely be decided by backcourt play, with Demary Jr. and Fears leading the charge for their respective teams. Georgia’s size and physicality could again be the difference-maker, as they dominated at the free-throw line in the first meeting.

Best Bet: Georgia -4.0 – The Bulldogs are peaking at the right time, and their free-throw advantage could once again be the key factor.

Over/Under Lean: Over 149.0 – Both teams like to push the pace, and Oklahoma’s recent games have been high-scoring affairs.

Expect a hard-fought battle, but Georgia’s momentum and physicality should help them cover the spread and advance to the next round.
