Indiana Fever Breakdown
The Fever (7-7) finally look like a team clicking on both ends of the floor. Fresh off one of their most efficient outings of the year, a 94-86 win over Seattle, they’ve now won four of their last five. The resurgence was headlined by a monster 31-point performance from Aliyah Boston, who dominated the paint and scored with purpose instead of passing out of good looks.
Caitlin Clark is still a key distributor, averaging a league-best 8.9 assists, but her scoring touch has cooled. She’s 0-for-13 from deep over her last two games and tallied just six points in Seattle. Still, the team’s ball movement and shot creation have picked up around her, and they’ve shown they can win even when Clark isn’t lighting it up.
Indiana has covered in five of its last seven and has improved its defensive efficiency, now holding opponents under 90 points in three straight.
Los Angeles Sparks Breakdown
It’s been a rough ride for the Sparks (4-11), who’ve now dropped four straight and look disjointed late in games. In Tuesday’s loss to Chicago, they led after three quarters only to collapse in the fourth, getting outscored 30-17. That’s been a theme: late-game execution has been a disaster.
Cameron Brink remains sidelined as she rehabs her ACL injury, and L.A.’s defense continues to struggle—ranking third-worst in the league in points allowed (87.3 ppg). Offensively, they rely heavily on isolation plays, and that predictability has cost them down the stretch.
First-year coach Lynne Roberts is still searching for the right lineup combinations and consistent defensive effort, but against a Fever team gaining confidence, this is a tall ask.
Prediction:
The Fever’s depth and momentum should be more than enough to cover the spread at home against a shaky Sparks team. Indiana is starting to play like a team with playoff aspirations, and even if Clark’s shot hasn’t been falling, Boston and the supporting cast are picking up the slack.
Score Prediction: Indiana 94, Los Angeles 82
Best Bet: Indiana -10.5
Total: Over 173.5 – Expect a high-scoring pace and another dominant home showing by Indiana.
