Los Angeles Sparks Breakdown
The Sparks (10-14) are finally showing signs of life, making a late-season push to end their playoff drought that dates back to 2020. They sit just 1.5 games out of the final playoff spot and are currently riding their best stretch of the season, winning four consecutive games.
Offensively, Los Angeles has turned up the heat, scoring 90 or more points in each of its last four contests, a feat that ties a franchise record set in 2013. Much of that success has come against weaker competition, with two of those wins over Connecticut (3-20) and two against the sub-.500 Washington Mystics.

Her perimeter shooting remains elite, leading the league with 60 three-pointers made. If the Sparks hope to pull off an upset, Plum needs to bounce back from her last meeting with New York when she scored just 13 points on 2-for-10 shooting.
New York Liberty Breakdown
The defending champions are once again proving why they’re the team to beat. At 17-6, New York enters this matchup on a five-game winning streak and holds an impressive 12-2 home record. The Liberty beat the Sparks earlier this month, 89-79, overcoming an 11-point deficit in the third quarter.
Sabrina Ionescu has been on fire, dropping 29 points with eight assists in Friday’s win over Phoenix. Alongside All-Star Breanna Stewart and the versatile Natasha Cloud, this team is built to dominate both ends of the court. Cloud led the way in their last clash against the Sparks with 23 points and seven assists.
